Prefix of the Year (POTY) recognises the breeder (registered prefix) whose cats collectively achieve the highest level of success during the award period.

Points awarded to individual exhibits for Cat of the Year Top Five placings are also credited to the breeder’s registered prefix.

Where a breeder has multiple exhibits carrying the same prefix, points from all eligible exhibits are accumulated collectively.

Each qualifying Top Five placing contributes to the prefix’s total score.

Prefix of the Year awards are calculated separately for:
•    Longhair Breeds (LH)
•    Shorthair Breeds (SH)

Only the prefix ranked first in each category will be awarded Prefix of the Year.
