The Somali is a semi-longhaired cat of Abyssinian type, medium build, firm, lithe and muscular. It is an alert, active cat and when standing it gives an impression of being on tiptoes. The medium long, sculptured coat is soft, dense, resilient and distinctly ticked. Males are generally larger than females.
